SMC Design has been shortlisted for Best Public Space at the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards 2026, recognising its design of the Main Pool Deck aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Prestige.
The nomination celebrates SMC’s approach to creating sophisticated outdoor environments that combine luxury, functionality and memorable guest experiences.
A journey from the beach to the ocean
Inspired by the ocean’s natural movement and the contours of coastal landscapes, the Main Pool Deck has been conceived as an elegant, resort-style destination at sea.
Organic architectural forms, natural textures and a refined palette of coastal materials create a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. At the heart of the design, a generous swimming pool is complemented by an innovative two-tiered sunbed arrangement, maximising space while offering guests different perspectives and spaces for relaxation. The design extends into the surrounding outdoor dining and leisure areas, creating an experience that moves naturally among relaxation, socialising and the ocean beyond.
Recognising design excellence
The Cruise Ship Interiors Awards celebrate outstanding creativity and innovation across the cruise interiors industry. The Best Public Space category recognises communal environments that improve guest experience and social interaction.
Being named a finalist is a welcome recognition of the originality and partnership behind the project and SMC is delighted to see its work for Regent Seven Seas Cruises recognised alongside other leading international projects.
