The lounge areas offer a diversity of experiences spread across a variety of locations onboard Spirit of Discovery. Champagne receptions are hosted in The Living Room, whilst the evening’s party takes place within The Britannia Lounge. As an edutainment offering, guests can take part in painting or pottery classes within The Library, or simple indulge in the coffee and cake offerings this area boasts.

The Library

In addition to a well-stocked library, guests are offered a dedicated craft space and card room. Furniture by Cassina, Morgan and B&B Italia give a relaxed and easy atmosphere, with custom-made lighting adding to the boutique hotel feel. Artwork and sculptures pick up colours from the interior scheme, and the area also offers fantastic views of the Atrium feature artwork.

The Britannia Lounge

Signature space with a long history on Saga vessels, this multifunctional entertainment space boasts 270º panoramic views. At the forward part, underneath a uniquely arranged light fixture featuring Melt pendants lights by Tom Dixon, is the dancefloor area, with a stage backdrop that takes design cues from the Festival of Britain. Flanked by mid-century furniture sat upon a carpet design illustrating the traditional waft and weave of carpet manufacturing, this area also boasts artwork and sculptures that are inspired by the ship's form itself.

The Living Room

Greeting passengers as they board Spirit of Discovery, this bar and lounge area offers an introduction to the vessel. A boutique hotel feel is conveyed through contemporary furniture and eclectic artwork, transforming from a café by day to a sociable bar and entertainment space by night. The area is also home to 'This Scepter'd Isle', a 12-metre bronze relief designed in-house by SMC Art Consultancy, filled with motifs celebrating British landscape and achievements.
